City
Police
Commissioner

Abraham

investigation
officers
to
arrest
actor
Vijayakumar
on
Saturday
after
discharge
from
the
hospital
where
he
was
admitted
after
the
suicide
attempt.
The
investigation
team
had
found
that
Vijayakumar
has
close
links
with
the
pipemoney
mafia
based
in
Chennai.
He
leads
the
deals
in
Kerala.
Police
have
also
found
that
his
relative
Marshal
and
driver
Gijin
are
the
carriers.
Vijyakumar
had
taken
a
loan
of
Rs.
25
lakhs
from
George,
a
businessman
in
Kochi.
Later
the
amount

While

a
group
of
goondas
attacked
him
and
snatched
the
money
bag
after
spraying
chilly
powder
on
his
face
at
south
Kalamassery.
This
was
a
plot
planned
by
Vijayakumar.
When
police
checked
Vijayakumar's
cellphone
it
was
found
that
calls
made
and
received
were
from
the
goondas
around
Aluva
and
Paravoor
involved
in
the
attack.
This
evidence
proved
that
the
robbery
was
a
planned
act
and
Vijayakumar
himself
had
sent
four
criminal
groups
to
snatch
the
money.
When
the
police
found
out
his
link
with
goondas
he
attempted
suicide
on
Wednesday.
Police
have
also
started
to
enquire
in
detail
about
the
petitions
filed
by
some
persons
last
year
in
Ernakulam
North
police
station
against
Vijayakumar
on
fraud
charges.
The
investigation
team
member,
Kalamassery
SI,
C.J.
Martin
said
that
Vijayakumar
has
been
engaged
in
this
business
for
a
long
period.
Police

also
got
evidence
that
some
of
the
prominent
Malayalam
film
actors
utilised
the
service
of
Vijayakumar
for
their
money
transaction.
