Kavya Madhavan files for divorce

Actress Kavya Madhavan filed divorce petition with the Family Court at Ernakulam and a petition in the First Class Magistrate Court against her husband Nishal Chandra and in-laws under the Domestic Violence Act, on Saturday.

Considering the petition, the family court posted the case to hear and summoned Nishal to appear before the court on September 22.

Kavya got married to computer engineer Nishal Chandra on February 5 last year at Kollur Mookambika Temple. After the marriage she lived in Kuwait with Nishal, who is a bank employee there and decided to quit the film industry at the height of her career. After living for a period of five months, discord disrupted their life and Kavya returned to her parents" home.
