Dam 999 screening at Cannes Film Festival

Dam 999, which is a bilingual movie made in Malayalam and English, has been selected for the special screening at the 64th Cannes International Film festival, to be held from May 11 to 22, 2011. According to reports, the film will be premiered in the Cannes Indian Pavilion section at the Palais Theatre on May 11.

The movie Dam 999 is an emotional thriller that is based on the short documentary 'DAMs- The Lethal Water Bombs' that revolves around the Banqiao dam disaster of 1975 that claimed the lives of 250,000 people in China. The movie is directed by Sohan Roy and produced by BizTV Network.

This bilingual flick, which includes many real-life incidents, features Ashish Vidyarthi, Joshua Fredric Smith, Rajit Kapur, Vinay Rai, Vimala Raman, Linda Arseniok, Megha Burman and many others in the cast. The movie bosses have planned to release it in India and the UAE on August 1, 2011.
