Malayalam Superstar Mohanlal and Mrs. Priyadarshan (director Priyadarshan"s wife) are the owner of Malayalam"s cricket team. Whereas Boney Kapoor is the owner of Bangla"s cricket team. CCL also announced the venues of Season 2 league - Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkatta, Kochi, Dubai, Abu Dubai, Sharjah. Season 2 will be held from January 27th to February 19th, 2012. there will be 15 League Matches, 2 Semifinals and 1 Final.
Boney Kapoor said, "Film & cricket has been my passion. I have grown up watching cricket matches & have even travelled great distances to watch cricket matches including Ranji. CCL gives me an opportunity to enjoy cricket & so what if it is with celebrities, I feel most of the Indians have grown up on cricket & seeing the celebrities playing gives me double joy to see how celebrities are trying to excel in this sport."
Salman Khan said, "Though Mumbai Heroes might have lost in season 1, our team has won hearts of millions by entertaining everyone on and off the field. I am proud that our team has accepted defeat so graciously and we will definitely perform better in the next season."
However, CCL founder and managing director Vishnu Induri, director Sreenivasulu Moorthy, director Tirumal Reddy, Mumbai Heroes team members Salman Khan, Sohail Khan, Suniel Shetty, Chennai Rhinos owner Ganga Prasad, Chennai Rhinos player Sarath Kumar, Karnataka Buldozers owner Ashok Kenny, Telugu Warriors owner Vishnu Manchu were present at the press conference on Friday.
Two new teams like Malayalam and Bangla have been introduced for the second season of the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) T20 matches on Friday, 6th August 2011. Malayalam and Bangla film industries are all set to participate in the action-packed extravaganza to evoke a sky-high adrenaline rush in the second season of CCL T20.
