Mammootty, Navya Nair bag JC Daniel Awards

Malayalam actors Mammootty and Navya Nair have bagged the Best Actor awards at the 2010 JC Daniel award, instituted by JC Foundation, for their performances in the movies Pranchiyettan and the Saint and Yugapurushan respectively. Director Vysakh's Pokkiri Raja has been adjudged as the Best Popular Film, while Lal Jose won the Best Director for the film Elsamma Enna Aankutty.

Lalu Alex and Ambika Mohan have been selected as the Best Supporting Actor Award, while Samudrakani and Akhila bagged the Best Debutante Actor awards. Best lyricist award winner is Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri (Yugapurushan) and Berny Ignatius is the Best Music Director (Karyasthan).

However, Cartoonist Yesudasan headed the award committee and K Roy was the vice chairman. Along with few other members, they have selected the winners for various categories. The award distribution function will be held on 17 of this month at Ernakulam Town Hall at 6 p.m.
