Amitabh Bachchan was given away the Lifetime Achievement Award by Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, Mammootty and Asianet MD K Madhavan. The Bollywood actor, who appeared in Mohalal's recently released Malayalam movie Kandahar, was overwhelmed by the fans' cheers as he received the honour from the South Indian Superstar.

Though he is considered as the most-revered and most-respected actor of India, he felt very humble before the Malayalam superstars. Later, he posted his picture of receiving the awards from Mohanlal and Mammootty on his Twitter page. He tweeted, "The two greats Mohanlal and Mammootty give me honour. So (I am) obliged and humbled. Thank you Laletan and Mam."

Big B thanked Asianet for recognising his contribution to Indian Cinema. On his twitter account, he wrote, "Thank you Asianet and Malayalam Cinema for this recognition. I am overwhelmed. He further tweeted, "Huge crowds and huge vociferous fans of Mohanlal and Mammootty. All so respectful and gracious. Such an emotional moment."

On his blog, Amitabh writes, "Mohanlal and Mammootty, the two stalwarts of Malayalam cinema, have always been most gracious in their reaction and contact with me and it was a joy to be in their proximity again. They are by far one of the most talented artists of the country; both having been associated with fine and popular cinema in the region, having won huge laurels and awards in the National sphere as well. One wishes them well and greater success in the future."
