Mukesh launches foundation to help poor

Malayalam film actor Mukesh has launched a foundation in collaboration with Nandana', a cultural organisation of Technopark and Kerala Club of America. The aim of the foundation is to render help to the poor and needy for their education, medical requirements and employment.

Talking to Oneindia, Mukesh said that he was inspired to form a foundation after hearing the woes of participants, when he was anchoring in a TV reality show 'Deal or No Deal'." He revealed that he has also plan to start a hospital in Kollam in memory of his late father and theatre artiste O. Madhavan.

Captain Krishnan Nair of Leela Hotels Group, Muhammed Ali, a leading enterpreneur in Gulf , Dr. Philip Augustin, managing director of Lakeshore Hospital and director Priyadarsan are among the patrons of foundation. The foundation will associate with Heart foundation of Sunrise in Kerala.

The logo of the foundation was released by actor Sreenivasan in a function held at Technopark, in Thiruvananthapuram. Health minister Adoor Prakash, former cultural minister MA Baby and Regional Cancer Centre director Dr.. Paul Sebastian attended the function.
