Resul Pookutty writes exams for his Law course

Resul Pookutty has gone very busy after he won the Oscars for Best Sound Mixing for Slumdog Millionaire in 2008. He has been shuttling between Los Angeles, London, Jaipur, Mumbai and Kerala for work purpose. Amidst his busy schedule, he found time to appear for the exams of his Law course last week.

Resul Pookutty had chucked his studies mid-way at the Government Law College, Thiruvananthpuram 20 years ago. He could not appear for three papers of the final year due to his mother's ill health in 1991. Later, he had joined the Film and Television Institute (FTII), Pune against his parents' wishes.

The world-famous sound editor and designer went back to the college last week. Resul appeared for the papers last Thursday. Talking about his exams, he says that it was his father's last desire to see him as a lawyer. Post Oscar, he requested Kerala University for a mercy chance to appear for three papers.

Resul Pookutty is rendering sound for Shahrukh Khan's Ra.One and working on a few international projects including Last Vision. He says that he had struggled to prepare for exams. He adds, “I carried hefty books all the time. I had to steal time in between flights and schedules."
