Adaminte Makan Abu fails to make it to top nine at Oscars

Adaminte Makan Abu, directed by Salim Ahmed is not in the top nine list for the best foreign film Oscar for 2011. The film does not find any mention on the official Oscar website.

Adaminte Makan Abu, which stars Salim Kumar and Zarina Wahab in lead roles is the story of an elderly Muslim couple and their struggle to go on a pilgrimage to Haj. The film was one among the 63 entries screened by the Oscar committee.

In the nine films that are shortlisted by the Oscar committee, there is Omar Killed Me (Morocco), Supercl sico (Denmark), Bullhead (Belgium), In Darkness (Poland), Monsieur Lazhar (Canada), Pina (Germany), Footnote (Israel) and Warriors of the Rainbow: Seediq Bale (Taiwan).

The presentation of the Oscar awards will take place on February 26 at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles.
