Cruel fate crushed child actor Taruni Sachdev's dreams. When she entered the glamour world at the tender age of five, Taruni Sachdev wanted to become a heroine one day.

"Uncle, I want to do the heroine's role in your film," Taruni had once told director Vinayan TG, who directed Taruni in Vellinakshatram in 2004. But the little girl's dreams ended with her death in Monday's plane crash in Nepal.

Taruni Sachdev's mother Geeta, who was travelling with her, also died in the crash. Both of them were part of group of Indians who boarded the Agni Air flight for a pilgrimage to Muktinath in Nepal. Taruni's father Harsh Sachdev has gone to Nepal to collect the bodies.

Vivacious Taruni became the favourite child actor of many Bollywood celebrities. She won millions of heart when she appeared in Rasna commercial and soon after she become one of the most popular faces on television.

In an interview to Times Of India, director Vinayan said, "I saw her in an ad with Mr Amitabh Bachchan. I got her number from the agency and called her. When her mother Geeta handed the phone to her, Taruni said, 'uncle, I want to act in films'. She was an extraordinary child, full of life. She was always with me all through Vellinakshtram. It is shocking that she is no more.”

Amitabh Bachchan who acted with Taruni in Paa tweeted: "Just reading that Taruni Sachdev the girl child artiste in Paa, has perished in Nepal plane crash. Please God may this not be."

R Balki, who directed the movie Paa and also shot many ad commercials with Taruni, said, "I will not be able to talk. She was a lovely vibrant child."
