Madhupal
has
started
work
on
his
second
movie
Ozhimuri,
based
on
the
life
of
five
people
living
in
Kerala-Tamil
Nadu
border.
The
area
that
was
part
of
Travancore,
got
attached
to
Tamil
Nadu
during
the
linguistic
organisation
of
states.
Script
writer
of
Kollywood,
Jaya
Mohan
has
penned
the
story
of
this
film.
Jaya
Mohan,
who
is
interestingly
a
Malayali
hails
from
this
district.
Jaya
Mohan
was
script
writer
of
Angaditheru,
Naan
Kadvaul
and
Maniratnam's
upcoming
flick
Kadal.
Ozhimuri
is
presently
being
shot
in
parts
of
Thakkala
and
Marthandam.
Before
the
shoot,
Madhupal
has
been
exploring
every
nook
and
corner
of
this
bilingual
states.
Malayali
community
in
the
place
is
facing
an
identity
crisis.
The
current
generation
has
stopped
learning
Malayalam
and
prefer
to
speak
in
Tamil
in
order
to
get
government
jobs.
Besides,
there
are
no
Malayalam
medium
schools
there.
These
people
are
facing
injustice
of
the
worst
kind.
Neither
Tamil
Nadu
nor
Kerala
want
them.
This
particular
community
seems
to
specialise
in
litigation.
Swetha
Menon
handles
an
important
role
in
the
film.
She
will
be
seen
in
three
avatars
-
as
a
young
girl,
a
middle
aged
lady
and
an
old
woman.
Ozhimuri
is
a
female
centric
film
and
also
has
Bhavana,
Mallika,
Asif
Ali
and
MR
Gopa
Kumar
play
pivotal
roles.
