2012 was an interesting year for the Malayalam film industry. While few films were blockbusters, many others bombed at the box office. Huge starrer films didn't do well while movies made on a small scale did extraordinarily well.
While films like Second Show, Mayamohini, 22 Female Kottayam and Diamond Necklace were hits, there were innumerable flop films too that released this year. Movies like Padmasree Bharat Dr Sarojkumar, Spanish Masala and Casanova were super flops. Films like Father's Day, Karmayogi and Shikari bombed at the box office.
