Mohanlal, Kavya Madhavan, Kamal to bag Ramu Karyat award

Superstar Mohanlal will bag the best actor award, (Pranayam) while Kavya Madhavan will win the best actress (Gaddama) trophy in the Ramu Karyat award, instituted by Manappuram Financiers and Oruma. Kamal was declared as the best director for the film Gaddama. Best actor, actress and director award includes a purse of Rs one lakh and a gold statuette. Veteran actor Madhu will receive comprehensive achievement award. Jayasurya will receive special jury award for his performance in Beautiful.

Other award winners: Best male playback singer is Vijay Yesudas (Ee puzhayum-Indian Rupee), female playback singer is Manjari (Chinni Chinni-Urumi), lyricist is Rafeeq Ahmed (Kannodu Kathoram- Veeraputhran), music director award goes to M Jayachandran (Paattil ee paattil-Pranayam).

The awards will be given out in the first week of April this year in a function at Thalikulam Snehatheeram in Thrissur. Awards were announced by TN Prathapan MLA, Manappuram group chairman VP Nanda Kumar, Oruma General Secretary CA Ahmed Rasheed and Thalikulam block panchayat president K Dileep Kumar at a press meet in Thrissur.
