Actor-Director Hakim Rawther Passes Away
Actor-Director Hakim Rawther passed away, today (September 5), at Kottayam Medical College Hospital. He was admitted to the hospital a week ago and was undergoing treatment. He was 58.
Hakim
was
also
a
well-known
mimicry
artist
and
had
done
several
stage
shows.
He
had
directed
a
movie
The
Guard,
which
was
shot
completely
with
a
single
actor.
Kalabhavan
Mani
played
the
role
of
the
guard
in
that
film.
Hakim made his debut in the industry with the movie Johnnie Walker directed by Jayaraj. He has also acted in several movies like Mookkillarajyathu, Manthramothiram, Thilakam, Vettam, Rasikan, Paithrukam, Kazhcha, Kisan, Orma Maathram, Pattanathil Sundaran and Nayika.
He played the role of a mental patient in Mookkillarajyathu, a drug mafia member in Johnnie Walker, an aesthetic society member in Paithrukam, played a thief in the movie Manthramothiram, a villager in Thilakkam, was seen as Dileep's friend in Pattanatil Sundaran, a man at Tea shop in Vettam, a man at the film club society in Kazhcha, as Mari - the beggar in the street in Rasikan, a man at the orphanage in Orma Maathram, and played the cameraman in the movie Nayika.
Hakim Rawther is survived by his wife Devi Menon, who is a Ghazal writer and a singer.
