Raj Malik, Vice President, Film Acquisition & Distribution,
Krian Media highlighted "Understanding the popularity and demand of
regional cinema across the globe we aim to deliver the best
entertainment to our audiences on a global platform. Through our
foray into distribution of films, we are servicing cinema in one or
more way and adding to its reach. Apart from domestic distribution,
our international reach is established in major markets such as of
North America as of now."
The Indian film industry is highly regionalised with the largest
language groups supporting major regional industries. In fact
regional (especially southern) films bite a huge chunk of the
overall Indian film market as they have evolved by leaps and bounds
and have been witnessing new trends over time. Although, Bollywood
being the biggest film industry in India, the southern film
industry is contributing substantially to the market. The US market
is concerned as it has been a fast-growing and affluent population
of Indian Americans: with 2.5 million people. Many distributors of
Bollywood and regional Indian films are growingly eager to broaden
their global appeal.
