Kunthapuram - A tale of love and patriotism

An old colonial era is being re-constructed onscreen through the film Kunthapura. It is a movie that tells the story of freedom struggle done by the people of an old village Kunthapura in Mysore. This mega budget flick is directed by Joe Eshwar.

The story flows through the life of a freedom fighter Krishnappa Narasimha Shastri, who lived during the 1920's. This character is portrayed by Charu Haasan. Anu Haasan, daughter of Kamal Hasaan and Charu Haasan's brother Chandra Haasan, is doing a pivoted role in the film. She plays Gowri Iyer and is seen as a journalist in the movie.

Beyon is making his debut as a hero through his movie. Priya Lal, Kaveri, Rajkumar, Juble Raj, Master Mischelle are also seen in supporting roles. British actors Victor Ptak, Lawrence Larkin, Suzanne Roche also play other important roles. Jubil Raj and Cauvery Raajkumar will also be seen in meaty roles.

Joe Eshwar, who was a journalist himself at UK, has done the scripting for the film. It took him almost two years to complete the shooting of the movie. The film was shot in locations including England, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Steeson Stephen Muppopillil and PC Jacob have produced the film. Music is scored by Gowri Lakshmi. Lyrics is penned by Georgie John.
