After
Shalu
Menon,
Uthara
Unni
and
Sandhya,
the
new
name
that
has
entered
the
solar
scam
is
the
megastar
Mammootty.
The
accused
kingpin
Biju
Radhakrishnan
said
that
he
had
given
Rs
10
lakhs
to
Mammootty
for
the
inaugural
function
of
the
solar
scam.
The
same
was
rumoured
earlier,
but
no
evidence
was
put
forward.
Now
the
main
culprit
Biju
himself
has
confronted
before
the
probe
that
he
had
given
Rs
10
lakhs
to
the
actor,
a
cheque
of
Rs
50,000
first
and
later
the
rest
of
the
amount
in
cash.
The
amount
was
paid
to
Mammootty
in
a
hotel
in
Kochi.
Mammootty
is
said
to
have
given
the
money
to
an
NGO.
In
2011,
Team
Solar
had
given
an
award
to
Mammootty.
In
a
function
arranged
in
a
star
hotel
in
Kochi
on
11th
June
2011,
the
award
was
given
by
Minister
KP
Mohanan.
Making
the
function
a
star
attraction
was
purposely
done
by
Team
Solar
to
attract
the
common
mass.
Kaviyoour
Ponnamma,
Sarayu
and
Vineeth
were
the
other
celebrities
who
attended
the
function.
Recently,
a
news
website
released
a
telephonic
conversation
between
Saritha
S
Nair
and
Abdul
Majeed,
who
is
one
of
those
cheated
in
the
scam.
In
the
transcript,
Saritha,
under
the
name
Lakshmi
Nair,
is
quoted
as
saying
that
actor
Mammootty
is
a
'good
customer'
of
hers.
She
said
this
in
reply
to
the
complainant's
claim
that
he
had
connections
with
eminent
people
in
Kochi,
including
Mammootty.
