Since three decades, Mohanlal as an actor, is still the superstar of Mollywood. He has acted only in a very few other language films. But still his fans are wide, deprive of the state. His first appearance in Tamil was for the movie Gopuravasalile, where he was seen in a cameo role.

Ratnam threw light on Tamil politics, where it depicted the early
friendship of MGR and Karunanidhi. Mohanlal played the role of MGR,
and Prakash Raj as Karunanidhi. Aishwarya Rai was also seen in the

flop at the Box-Office. In 2006, Lal was again seen in the Tamil
remake of Keerthichakra titled Aran, a Major Ravi

In 2009, he was seen with Kamal Haasan in Unnaipol
Oruvan. The film went unnoticed, but Lal and Kamal Haasan's
performance did win much applause.
Now again Lal is back to Kollywood after many years through
Vijay is his
co-star in this film. Vijay plays the adopted son of Mohanlal in
this flick. Poornima Jayaram is also making a comeback with this
movie. He may be seen in many more movies in Kollywood, but Iruvar
will always be the best of all at all times.
