been
nominated
among
the
final
four
movies,
for
the
prestigious
South
Indian
International
Movie
Awards
(SIIMA).
The
nominations
were
selected
by
an
elite
panel
and
the
winners
will
be
selected
by
an
online
voting
system.
Apart
from
Spirit,
movies
from
other
regional
languages
that
has
been
selected
include
Thuppakki
from
Tamil,
Gabbar
Singh
from
Telugu,
and
Addhuri
from
Kannada.
Spirit
was
directed
by
Ranjith.
Mohanlal
played
the
role
of
a
chronic
alcoholic
in
the
film,
who
later
gets
rid
off
the
habit
and
conducts
a
show
against
drinking
alcohol.
His
character
won
much
applause
for
the
same.
Kaniha
played
the
female
lead
in
Spirit.
Spirit
has
also
got
many
nominations
at
SIIMA.
The
movie
gives
a
social
message
on
alcoholism.
The
state
government
has
also
given
tax
benefit
for
the
film.
Mohanlal
says
that
he
is
very
happy
to
be
a
part
of
such
a
good
movie
both
as
an
actor
and
also
as
a
producer.

Aggarwal

the

lead.
The
movie
is
in
the
lead
in
Tamil
category
with
10
nominations.
Actor
Dhanush
has
been
nominated
for
three
categories
including
Best

Singer

Lyricist.

Shankar.
Pawan
Kalyan
and
Shruti
Hassan
played
the
lead
roles
in
the
film.
The
movie
has
got
13
nominations
including
the
Best
Actor
and
Actress
and
is
in
the
lead
in
Telugu.
Shruti
Hassan

been
nominated
for
three
categories.
Kannada
movie
Addhuri
was
a
love
story.
Debutant
Dhruv
Sarja
and
Radhika
Pandit
played
lead
roles
in
this
film.
It
has
got
nine
nominations.
There
are
19
categories
of
awards
for
each
regional
movie.
The
awards
will
be
presented
on
September
12
and
13
at
UAE,
which
will
be
attended
by
all
the
stunning
stars
from
all
the
regional
languages.
The
SIIMA
is
to
utilise
this
opportunity
to
market
the
south
film
industry
and
to
promote
it
globally.
