Nivin Pauly Out, Maqbool Salman In For Medulla Oblongata!

Movie Medulla Oblongata had made it to the headlines for its unusual title. The film, which is directed by Suresh Nair, was earlier said to have Nivin Pauly playing the lead role. Now, the latest reports claims that Nivin Pauly stepped back from the movie and Maqbool Salman has replaced him.

Medulla Oblongata is the Malayalam remake of the Tamil movie Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom, which was released in 2012. Directed by debutant Balaji Tharaneetharan, the movie was a comedy-thriller. Vijay Sethupathi did the leading role in this movie. Now, in the Malayalam version, Maqbool will be essaying the role played by Vijay in Tamil.

Medulla Oblongata will be produced by Vendhar Movies. The rest of the cast including the heroine is yet to be finalised. We have to wait for more details about the movie which indeed bears a unique and strange title.

Maqbool Salman is the son of Mammootty's brother Ibrahimkutty, who is also an actor as well as a producer. Maqbool made his debut in the industry with the movie Matinee. Though the movie did not do any good at the Box Office, Maqbool's performance as a debutant actor did got rave reviews. His upcoming movies are Hangover and Oru Korean Padam.
