Prithviraj, who has made it big with Aurangzeb and Aiyyaa, has expressed his wish to direct a Hindi film on few recent occasion. Now, he has taken the first step in that direction. Yes! He has bought the remake rights of his 2012 hit Mollywood movie Ayalum Njanum Thammil. And he hopes to direct none other than Bollywood Megastar Amitabh Bachchan in its Hindi version.
In a recent press conference, Prithviraj himself has confirmed the news about buying the rights of Ayalum Njanum Thammil. The actor said, "I have taken the first step and bought the film. Now, the rights of the film rest with me I can be assured that nobody else is going to do it. That's the first step to ensure that the project has somehow shaped up."
Meanwhile, Prithviraj has also revealed that he wants to rope in Amitabh Bachchan for one of the lead roles in its Hindi remake. He added, "I have started showing the film to a few people over here. Let's hope that they have the same kind of interest that I do and hopefully, I get a draft written in English that I will take to Mr Amitabh Bachchan to read it."
Ayalum Njanum Thammil is a medical drama on ethics and is an emotional suspense thriller. It is a candid and honest story of a committed senior doctor and an irresponsible junior doctor. The film draws a vivid picture of the medical profession through their relationship. Prithviraj, Prathap Pothen, Narain, Samvrutha Sunil, Remya Nambeesan and Rima Kallingal have played the lead roles in this Malayalam movie.
