turned
activist
and
also
a
parliamentarian,
was
the
chief
guest
at
the
18th
IFFK
(International
Film
Festival
of
Kerala),
which
is
being
held
at
Thiruvananthapuram.
In
her
speech,
the
actress
recollected
her
first
visit
to
Kerala
to
inaugurate
the
Chalachithra
Academy
of
Kerala.
Shabana
said
that
she
is
not
confident
in
doing
Malayalam
movies.
Shabana
Azmi,
addressing
a
huge
crowd
at
the
inauguration
ceremony
of
18th
IFFK,
said
that
she
had
got
many
offers
from
Mollywood
in
the
past.
But,
as
an
actress,
she
is
a
perfectionist
and
wants
to
do
justice
to
her
roles.
She
needs
to
understand
the
dialogues
after
which
only
she
could
deliver
it
perfectly.
Because
of
these
reasons,
Shabana
Azmi
said
that
she
had
rejected
offers
from
Mollywood.
Shabana
Azmi
clarified
that
she
do
not
know
Malayalam
language
and
so
she
is
not
confident
in
doing
movies
either.
In
an
interview
given
to
a
popular
daily
newspaper,
Shabana
Azmi
said,
"I
identify
myself
to
be
an
Indian
woman,
who
is
an
actor,
a
mother,
a
Muslim...
many
of
these.
At
the
same
time,
I
would
say
I
am
primarily
an
actor,
who
is
quite
sensitive
to
the
events
around
her."

Talking
about
her
re-visit
this
time
as
the
chief
guest
of
IFFK,
Shabana
Azmi
said,
"I
am
really
enjoying
the
atmosphere
at
the
fest
and
appreciate
the
enthusiasm
of
the
crowd
to
watch
and
understand
good
cinema
and
discuss
the
same
with
experts.
The
awareness
of
the
audience
about
trends
in
films
and
their
eagerness
to
learn
more
is
quite
impressive."
