Sreesanth's scenes to be deleted from Mazhavillinattam Vare

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Government decided to drop cricketer Sreesanth from the print and TV advertisements of its lottery after he was arrested by the Delhi police under charges of spot fixing. A few private companies also stopped ads featuring him. That's not all, Kaithapram Damodaran Nambuthiri says that he is going to chop off the shots in his debut film Mazhavillinattam Vare that features the cricketer.

Mazhavillinattam Vare revolves around cricket, and stars Archana Kavi and UK-based singer Abbas Hassan are playing the lead roles in it. Sreesanth is in a guest role alongside former player Robin Singh. Following the spot fixing scandal, Kaithapram Damodaran Nambuthiri has announced on Wednesday that he would edit all the scenes featuring him.

Talking to Deccan Chronicle, Kaithapram said, "The film is slated for an Onam release and I will not have tainted personalities in it." He added, "Sreesanth was in a guest role alongside former player Robin Singh, but we are taking off those shots. As of now, only Syed Kirmani and Robin will feature in my movie."

Mazhavillinattam Vare is all about a Pakistani cricketer named Yassin Mubarak Azad, who comes to Kerala on a mission. Previously, Pakistani fast bowler Mohammed Asif was roped in for the lead role, but was replaced when he was found involved in a match fixing scandal. Later, Kaithapram signed Pakistani batsman Mohammad Hafeez for the role. He was also replaced by Abbas Hasan due to his busy cricket schedules.
