Mollywood
has
witnessed
many
sequels
and
among
all
of
them
CBI
series
was
the
biggest
hit.
Mammootty
portrayed
the
lead
role
as
the
CBI
officer
Sethurama
Iyer
in
all
the
sequels.
Now
the
latest
buzz
in
town
is
that
the
fifth
sequel
will
be
getting
a
change
in
cast.
If
sources
are
to
be
believed,
Suresh
Gopi
will
replace
Mammootty
in
the
fifth
sequel.
Oru
CBI
Diary
Kurippu
was
the
first
part
of
the
film
and
Mammootty
played
the
intelligent
CBI
officer
in
the
film.
Suresh
Gopi
was
also
a
part
of
that
film,
where
he
was
seen
as
sub-inspector
Harry
who
comes
to
assist
Sethurama
Iyer
on
investigating
the
murder
of
Omana,
played
by
actress
Lissy
Priyadarshan.
Sethurama
Iyer
was
the
last
sequel.
When
director
K
Madhu
and
writer
SN
Swamy
approached
Mammootty
for
the
fifth
sequel,
the
actor
found
the
script
very
complicated
and
recommended
to
cast
another
person
to
do
the
role.
Since
Suresh
Gopi
was
already
a
part
of
the
film,
they
decided
to
bring
him
in
for
the
same.
In
the
fifth
sequel,
inspector
Harry
will
be
investigating
the
case
instead
of
Sethurama
Iyer.
However,
Sethurama
Iyer
will
also
be
present
in
the
film.
He
will
be
guiding
Harry
for
the
investigation.
Other
cast
is
yet
to
be
finalised.
The
writer
says
that
he
has
not
done
with
the
script
as
he
cannot
find
a
good
climax.
The
movie
is
expected
to
kick
start
this
year
itself.
The
CBI
officer's
character
was
inspired
by
the
late
IPS
officer,
Radha
Vinod
Raju.
