We see many posts regarding the top five actresses in Bollywood, Tollywood and Kollywood but never get a chance to witness anything from Mollywood. It may be because all Malayalam actresses are popular even there! Whatever might be the reason, the industry is gifted with many actresses that have acting as their passion. Our heroes are just outstanding and needs no words to describe. But when it comes to heroines, they seem to be an unimportant factor.
Last year, the industry witnessed some major women oriented films and all of them were a blockbuster. Rima Kallingal's 22 Female Kottayam, Kavya Madhavan's Bhakthajanangalude Sradhakku, Revathy's Molly Aunty Rocks, Mamta Mohandas' My Boss and Swetha Menon's Ithra Maatram - all had the female lead. Shobana
Shobana is one of the most graceful actresses seen in Malayalam. Her passion for dancing is so much that she quit films for it. She made her debut in April 18 opposite Balachandra Menon, after which she conquered the industry until she quit.
Manju Warrier
Though she did not get much time to settle in the industry, she had made an imprint with her first flick Sallapam, opposite Dileep. After that we witnessed many such roles that were extra-ordinary. Kannezhuthi Pottuthottu and Kanmadham can be cited as an example.
Kavya Madhavan
Kavya is like a girl next door for Malayalees. She is more popular for her family oriented roles. Made her debut as a child artist and after a gap, Kavya returned to the industry as a heroine through Dileep flick Chandranudikkunnadikkil. Their pair was a success and have many to their credits.
Shweta Menon
With some experiments on her roles, Shweta has been very much successful to gain the throne in Mollywood. She was even rewarded for it. Her performances in Paleri Maanikyam, Salt n Pepper were just outstanding. She is to do more and we can see it in her upcoming films.
Rima Kallingal
Rima's first flick did not do much good as a film, but she became popular. Her movie 22 Female Kottayam showed us some spectacular moments, which still remains in our hearts. She has many more coming up her way, where she is to portray many such characters that is sure to fetch a place in our hearts.
