Who Will Play Kunjali Marakkar, Mammootty Or Mohanlal?

This might be the first time that two directors plan for the same movie at a time. Yes, it is about Kunjali Marakkar. Directors Priyadarshan and Amal Neerad are geared up in the making of their next movie based on the life of the brave warrior Kunjali Marakkar.

Now news were in air that Amal Neerad has planned the movie along with Mammootty and Priyadarshan is also moving with the same theme with Mohanlal. Rumours flashed out creating a tug of war between the two superstars. But both of them kept quiet. But, now Priyadarshan too confirms that Mammootty plays the role of Kunjali Mararkkar in his film too!

Priyadarshan says that his movie on Kunjali Marakkar is not an epic movie but it tells the story of a man called Kunjikrishnan Nair in the 16th century. Mohanlal plays the role of Kunjikrishnan Nair. This man comes to Kozhikode in search of a job. But he gets mistaken as Kunjali Marakkar by the people. Kunjikrishnan is forced to continue himself as Kunjali until the original Kunjali Marakkar lands there. This role is essayed by Mammootty.

What happens next forms the rest of the movie. Priyadarshan said that he wanted to keep the presence of Mammootty in the film as a suspense but he is forced to disclose it due to pressure and the various controversial news. He also added that this movie will be entirely different one from all his earlier flicks. But Amal Neerad has planned the real life story of the warrior and Mammootty will be essaying the role of the same. So it's confirmed! Mammootty is the real Kunjali Marakkar in both the films.
