100 Degree Celsius, the
recently released women centric film, written and directed by
debutante Rakesh Gopan, enters a legal battle. A complaint has been
filed in Lok Ayuktha against censor board by a person called Manoj
Narayanan, for permitting to release the movie. Manoj states the
movie portrays women in a wrong manner.
100 Degree Celsius revolves around 5 women- an IT
professional, a journalist, a bank employee, a college student and
a house wife, played by Swetha Menon, Meghna Raj, Bhama, Ananya and debutant Haritha respectively and
the incidents in their life.
Rakesh Gopan, the director of the movie, brushed off the
allegations by stating that the movie doesn't intend to portray
women in a wrong manner. The director says that the movie is all
about the struggles of 5 women who tries to get out of an issue.
Rakesh also revealed that Manoj filed complaint against a scene, in
which one of the lead characters slaps a man for his misbehaviour;
which is absolutely normal in the case of any woman.
100 Degree Celsius is the first part of a thriller
movie series. The movie is receiving positive reviews from critics
and running successfully in theatres. Along with the 5 leading
ladies, Mithun Ramesh, Anu Mohan and Sethu also play pivotal roles
in the movie. Rakesh Gopan confirmed that the sequel will go on
floors immediately. Bollywood actress Radhika Apte and Tamil actor
Shaam will also be a part of the sequel.
