Darshana
Rajendran,
who
is
an
active
theatre
artist
from
Chennai,
will
make
her
on-screen
debut
with
the
movie
John
Paul
Vaathil
Thurakkunnu,
directed
by
Chandrahasan.
The
movie,
which
is
based
on
Punathil
Kunjabdulla's
short
story
of
same
name,
will
star
Deepak
Parambol
in
the
title
role,
John
Paul.
Darshana
was
referred
to
the
film
by
the
director
of
the
play
she
acted
in.
She
plays
Anna,
the
sister
of
the
protagonist
John
Paul,
played
by
Deepak
Parambol.
About
her
character,
she
says:
Anna
is
a
fun
loving-hard
working
girl,
who
is
the
pet
of
the
whole
village.
Darshana
feels
that
theatre
is
a
medium
which
demands
the
actors
to
be
loud
and
expressive;
while
movies
demands
comparitively
natural
perfomance.
She
has
already
signed
her
next
movie,
which
is
a
bilingual,
directed
by
Madhumitha.
The
Tamil
version
is
titled
as
Moonne
Moonnu
Varthai.
She
plays
the
second
female
lead
in
the
film.
Darshana
prefers
the
theatre
over
films
as
her
favourite
acting
platform.
But
still,
she
wants
to
continue
acting
in
films
in
some
meaningful
roles.
She
also
remarked
that
language
is
not
a
criteria
to
choose
the
movies.
John
Paul
Vaathil
Thurakkunnu
is
an
emotional-thriller
which
revolves
around
a
village
lad
who
attends
an
interview
and
gets
drawn
in
to
a
different
world.
Rest
of
the
star
cast
includes
Shruthi
Menon,
Sudhip
Joshi,
Madhu
and
P
Balachandran
in
pivotial
roles.
