Deepak Parampel Replaces Asif Ali In Nellikka

Nellikka is an upcoming Malayalam movie directed by Bijith Bala. It was earlier reported that the movie has Asif Ali playing the lead role. But now, its scribe PR Arun who says that Asif Ali is no longer a part of their movie and he has been replaced by Deepak Parambel.

Deepak Parambol, who played the villain in the movie Thira, is all excited in playing the lead in Nellikka. The movie revolves around the story of Balu, essayed by Deepak. He is a die-hard fan of Bob Marley, and his father, an ardent fan of MS Baburaj - the renowned composer-musician from Calicut. The film is not a musical entertainer, but the movie traces the events set against the backdrop of Babukka's music, a voice much loved by all Malayalis.

Popular Bollywood actor Atul Kukarni, who was last seen in the Malayalam film @Andheri, will play the role of a bank officer in Nellika. The movie also highlights the tale of friendship between two brother-in-laws.

The rest of the cast include Sija Rose, Bau and many others. Arun said that they have plans to cast MG Sasikumar to play the father's role in the movie. But, nothing on this has been confirmed yet. Moreover, he added that he cannot reveal anything more about the movie as it has many twists and turns.

Deepak is currently busy with John Paul Vaathil Thurakunnu, where he plays the lead role.
