The favourite hero of family audience, Jayaram celebrates his 50th birthday today. The actor, who is a Padma Shri holder, is highly active in the Malayalam and Tamil movie industries, with a handful of promising projects.
50th birthday is very special for Jayaram, as the filming of his son Kalidas's debut has started on the same day. The actor shared his happiness through his official Facebook page. Mammootty and some other popular actors wished Jayaram through their Facebook pages.
Jayaram was born in 1964, to a Brahmin family in Perumbavoor. He is married to former actress Parvathy. The couple have two kids; Malavika and Kalidas, a popular child artist, who is now all set to make his debut in a lead role. The actor is well-known for his deep passion for the instrument chenda and love for elephants.
He did his graduation in Kaladi Sree Shankara College, and had won many prizes and awards during the college days, for his excellence in mimicry. The actor later joined Kalabhavan, to pursue a full-fledged career in mimicry. Jayaram rose to fame by mimicking the popular actors Prem Nazir and Madhu. He made his acting debut with Aparan, directed by Padmarajan.
Jayaram had a dream debut with Aparan, in which he appeared in double role. The actor garnered immense popularity with the popular movies Mazhavilkavadi, Keli, Sandesham etc. He didn't shy away from doing supporting roles in the movies like Adwaitham, which has Mohanlal in lead and Mammootty starrer Dhruvam, even at the peak times of his career.
The actor has acted in some popular Tamil movies, including Gokulam, Kolangal, Thenali, Panchathanthiram, Thuppakki etc. He played the antagonist in the recent Tamil movies, Saroja and Chennai 28 as well. Jayaram has completed filming for the upcoming Kamal Haasan starrer Uthama Villain. He is reportedly playing a negative role in Surya starrer upcoming movie Mass as well.
