It was indeed a proud moment for the Malayalam industry after the National Awards for the year was announced yesterday. Suraj Venjaramoodu bagged the Best Actor award and North 24 Kaatham bagged the best Malayalam Film award. But, it was a disappointment for Jayaram and his movie Swapaanam. But, no one noticed it and was drowned in the happiness of the received awards.
Yes, Jayaram and his movie Swapaanam was also nominated
for the Best Actor and Best regional Movie category for the
National Award. But, at the last moment, Jayaram was chucked out
for his performance in the movie Swapaanam and the last
race was between Suraj and Rajkumar.
Both Suraj and Rajkumar finally shared the Best Actor Award.
Thoigh disappointed this time too, the actor did not forget to
congratulate Suraj for his achievement. Jayaram wrote on his
Facebook page: Congratz dear Suraj for the National Award. Another
proud moment for all Malayalees. Way more to go dear.
High expectations were running for the performance done by Jayaram in Swapaanam as a man who plays chenda. With some good expressions, high expectations were riding on the actor to win a National Award atleast this time. Earlier too, Jayaram was nominated for the National Award for Best Actor for his movie Theerthadanam. But, then too, he was eliminated in the final list!
