John Brittas' Movie Velli Velichathil To Release In May

Velli Velichathil (In the Limelight) is an upcoming Malayalam movie directed by Madhu Kaithapram. Popular journalist and Television anchor John Brittas is playing the lead role in this movie, thus making his debut in the industry as an actor. Iniya plays the female lead in this movie.

The shooting of the movie was completed last week and the entire movie was shot in the Sultanate of Oman. The movie captured the country's exquisite and stunning natural beauty in all its splendour. Though Brittas plays the lead role, according to writer CV Balakrishnan, he says the the main lead role is played by the city itself, due to its unique character.

The movie Velli Velichathil is based on a novel that Balakrishnan wrote after his visit to Oman's capital early in 2013. He says, "The experience helped me conceive the story. Film was on my mind when I began to write it down. And when we decided to produce the film, we couldn't think of any other location than Muscat."

The lead actor Brittas says, "In real life, I am a senior executive of leading media organisation. It made my job easy in reel life. Moreover, my exposure to the visual media came handy as I never was shy while facing the camera. We have had many run-of-the-mill films featuring expatriates from Kerala, but this one breaks the monotony."

The rest of the cast include Lalu Alex, Suraj Venjaramood, Sudheer Karamana, Sreejith Ravi, Tini Tom and Raveendran playing prominent roles. The movie is produced by Ramesh Nambiar, who keeps hope boosting the tourism industry in Oman. The post production works will be held in Kerala and the team is planning to release the movie in May.
