Mammootty, Mohanlal Shocked By Akkineni Nageswara Rao's Death

Tollywood industry woke up with the shocking death news of their legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao. He died of cancer, today (January 22), after battling for life in the Care Hospital. Though, he has not done any Mollywood movies, he is more famous as the father-in-law of Amala in the Malayalam industry.

Almost all stars from the South Film industry expressed their condolences to the family. Mammootty wrote on his official Facebook page and even tweeted likewise: A legend passes away, he will be remembered for his immense contributions to the industry. My hearty condolence to the family. RIP Nageshwara Rao Sir.

Mohanlal tweeted: Saddened by the death of legendary actor Nageswara Rao Sir, Irreparable loss to film industry. May his soul rest in peace. Apart from Tollywood, even the Kannada stars were shocked to hear the death news of Nageswara Rao. The 90-year-old actor, who made his acting debut with Telugu film Sitarama Jananam in 1944, had starred in 250 films. He was currently shooting for Telugu family drama Manam with son Akkineni Nagarjuna and grandson Akkineni Naga Chaitanya.
