Mammootty's Manglish Starts Rolling!

After successfully completing Gangster, Mammootty will soon be joining the sets of his yet another movie Manglish, which is a pure comedy entertainer. The movie is directed by Salaam Bappu. The shooting of the movie started yesterday in Kochi.

Mammootty is said to essay the role of a large scale fish merchant Tharakan in Manglish. Tharakan is so fascinated with the English language that he always uses it at inappropriate occasions, which puts him into troubles. The worst part is that he is ignorant in the language. This is main ingredient of comedy.

Caroline Bech, a theater artist from Netherlands, plays the female lead in this movie. But, it has been reported that Caroline is not paired opposite the actor in the film. The rest of the cast has not been revealed.

Manglish movie will be produced by Muhammed Haneef under the banner of Red Rose creations. Journalist KP Riyas has done the scripting for the movie. It was earlier reported that Fahad Fazil will also be a part of this fun filled movie, but later the director himself slammed the news.

"Manglish is a story set around beaches. Often in sea-surrounded locales, there will be beaches where we get to see extreme opposite images - those occupied by the local fishermen community with all its rawness; and an adjacent, artificial one that caters mainly to the tourists. The cultural differences are strikingly conspicuous in such a set up.

Mammootty plays a tharakan - someone who auctions fish at the beach. Caroline Bech will be playing the role of a tourist in the film, who knows only English and lands up on the beach during a vacation. The movie revolves around the association of Caroline and the thakaran, which will have many fun moments," says the director.
