Mammootty to Have A Busy Year Ahead

Mammootty, the megastar of Mollywood will be the busiest actor of 2015. According to the latest reports, Mammootty has 16 projects in his kitty and all of the projects are expected to go on floors by the year 2015. Some of the major projects of the actor in 2015 are Siddique’s Bhaskar The Rascal, Laj Jr’s Driving License, Kamal’s next directorial venture and Joshiy’s upcoming untitled flick.

2014 was a great year for the actor, with the consecutive successes of Munnariyippu and Varsham. Mammootty had 7 releases on 2014, including Balyakalasakhi, Praise The Lord, Gangster, Manglish, Rajadhi Raja, Munnariyippu and Varsham. The first three movies emerged as huge box office disasters; while Manglish and Rajadhi Raja did a decent business.

But the next release Munnariyippu, directed by Venu was a strong comeback for the actor after the consecutive failures. The movie emerged as a critical and commericial success and earned highly positive reviews from both the audience and critics. Mammootty’s portrayal of the ex-culprit CK Raghavan, who carries the baggage of a mysterious past, was well-praised and the character is considered as one of the best roles of Mammootty till date.

The actor’s recent release Varsham, directed by Ranjith Sankar is already declared as a blockbuster and is earning extremely positive reviews from the all over. The actor plays Venu, an NRI who comes back to his native, to spend the rest of his life with his family, in the movie produced by himself under the banner Playhouse. Mammootty is currently filming for Deepu Karunakaran’s upcoming flick Fireman, in which he plays a fire fighter.
