Shobana Bags Prem Nazeer Award

Shobana, who has been voted as the Best Actress (Malayalam) of 2013 by the Oneindia readers, through an online poll, has won the Prem Nazeer award too. The award was organised by Chirayinkeezh Grama Panchayath.

The award comprises of an amount Rs 50,001, a plaque designed by artiste Dathan and a citation. Shobana has been selected for the award considering her comprehensive achievements in film field. Prem Nazeer award committee chairman R Subhash announced the award in a press meet. Award distribution function will be held on January 22 at Sharkara in a programme titled Prem Nazeer Smrithi Sandhya at 6 pm.

Shobana, who was keeping away from the industry for quite sometime, was back with a bang with a brilliant performance in the movie Thira, which won her the Best Actress Award in the poll conducted by Oneindia. Nazriya Nazim ranked second in the list for her movie Neram. Keerthi Menaka ranked the last position for her debut movie Geethanjali. Other contestants for the poll were Meghana Raj and Swetha Menon.

Shobana is now concentrating more on her dancing career and has developed her own dancing concepts which are innovative indeed. She is also running dancing schools. Though busy with all these, Shobana says that she like to do such roles which has something to perform. Oneindia congratulate the actress for her achievement.
