The new entry into the star kids-turned-actors block, Kalidas Jayaram said that he is waiting for a perfect launch in Mollywood. Kalidas is all set to make his debut in Tamil in a lead role with the upcoming movie Oru Pakka Kathai, directed by Balaji Tharaneetharan.
Kalidas said that he was looking for a very different script for the re-entry and didn't have any intentions to debut as a hero with big budget mass entertainers. Director Balaji, who was looking for a suitable face for the lead role in Oru Pakka Kathai, offered him the lead role after watching his mimcry performance in Vijay Awards.
Earlier, there were a lot of conjectures about Kalidas's re-entry into films. It was rumoured that he will be making his lead role debut with Mani Ratnam or Gautham Menon movies; but later the news was revealed to be false.
Kalidas has already proved his acting skills as a child artist. He won the National Film Award for Best Child Artsit, for his stunning performance as an insecure child who fears about losing his mom's love, after the birth of younger brother, in the Sibi Malayil directed movie Ente Veedu, Appuvinteyum.
Oru Pakka Kathai got officially launched by actor Kamal Hassan in an event conducted at Chennai. Rest of the cast and the female lead is yet to be revealed. Prem Kumar handles the cinematography. Thaikkudam Bridge fame Govind Menon composes the music. Rest of the cast and crew is yet to be revealed. The movie is produced by K S Sreenivasan, under the banner Vasan’s Visual Ventures.
