the
Malayalam
Cinema.
The
award
was
ascertained
by
the
5-member
jury
led
by
the
previous
award
winner,
writer
MT
Vasudevan
Nair.
The
jury
also
included
actor
Madhu,
film
producer
PV
Gangadharan,
Cultural
Affairs
Secretary
Rani
George,
and
Chalachitra
Academy
Chairman,
filmmaker
T
Rajeevnath.

the
award
in
1992,
in
honour
of
legendary
filmmaker
JC
Daniel,
the
father
of
Malayalam
Cinema.
It
has
been
considered
as
the
most
prestigious
award
in
the
field
of
Malayalam
cinema.

Sasi
entered
the
movie
industry
as
an
art
director.
He
made
his
directorial
debut
with
the
movie
Utsavam
in
1975.
His
most
popular
works
include
the
iconic
movies
Avalude
Ravukal,
Angadi,
Athirathram,
Devasuram
etc.
He
is
married
to
the
veteran
actress
Seema,
whom
he
introduced
to
the
movie
industry
with
the
movie
Avalude
Ravukal.
The
couple
has
a
son
Ani,
who
is
an
aspiring
filmmaker
and
a
daughter
named
Anu,
who
has
acted
in
Sasi's
directorial
venture
Symphony.
