Kunchacko Boban, the current heir of prestigious production banner Udaya, is all set to restart the film production. If the reports are to be believed, Kunchacko Boban will produce the upcoming Sidhartha Siva movie, under Udaya.
It is a delightful news for the Malayalam movie lovers, who have been eagerly waiting to watch the prestigious 'howling rooster' back on the screen. Kunchacko Boban is yet to announce the project officially.
The movie will start rolling from January 2016 after Sidhartha Siva completes his upcoming Nivin Pauly starrer movie. The team has not finalised the title of the project and star cast yet.
Udaya Studios and production house were established by Kunchacko Boban's grandfather, the popular filmmaker cum producer Kunchacko. The first production venture of the studio was Vellinakshathran, which was released in 1949.
Kunchacko has produced about 75 films under the banner Udaya and directed 40. His last film was Kannappanunni, which had Prem Nazir in the titular role. It was the 100th film of Udaya.
Udaya's last film was Palattu Kunjikkannan, directed by Boban Kunchacko, who is the father of Kunchacko Boban. The banner has played a major role in shifting Malayalam Cinema's base from Madras to Kerala.
