CONFIRMED: Lal To Direct Mohanlal

Lal, the actor-filmmaker cum producer, is all set to direct Mohanlal in his next movie. Lal is associating with Mohanlal as an independent filmmaker, for the first time in his direction career.

The movie will be penned by Lal himself. The rest of the cast, technical crew and further details regarding the project are yet to be finalised. the project is produced by Anthony Perumbavoor, under the banner Aashirvad Cinemas.

The director has earlier associated with Mohanlal along with his co-director Siddique, for the blockbuster movie Vietnam Colony. Siddique-Lal duo has also penned the story for the popular Mohanlal starrer movie Nadodikkattu.

As actors, Lal and Mohanlal have shared the screen for the movies Kanmadam, Rock N Roll, Twenty 20 etc. Lal is currently concentrating on his acting career and had won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor, on 2014.

Lal's last few directorial ventures, including Tournament, which was a multi-starrer flick and Cobra, which had Mammootty and the director himself in the lead roles, were critical and commercial disasters.

Mohanlal, on the other hand, is currently filming for Padmakumar directed revenge drama Kanal. His upcoming action thriller Loham, which is written and directed by Ranjith, is slated to release for August 20th.
