today.
Muhammed
Kutty
Panapparambil
aka
Mammootty
was
born
as
the
eldest
son
of
Ismail
Panapparambil
and
Fathima
on
September
7th,
1951
in
a
small
village
named
Chempu
in
Kottayam
district
of
Kerala.
Despite
being
from
a
traditional
Muslim
family
with
no
movie
background,
Mammootty
was
deeply
passionate
about
Cinema
since
his
young
age.
As
a
young
kid,
he
was
always
fascinated
about
being
in
the
silver
screen
in
different
costumes,
and
aspired
to
become
an
actor
one
day.
This

Mammootty

Thank

He
started
trying
his
luck
in
films
since
he
joined
the
college
for
LLB.
But,
Mammootty
was
rejected
by
most
of
the
filmmakers,

his
looks

voice
as

points.
Later,
he
completed
the
Law
Graduation
and
started
practicing
as
an
advocate
at
Manjeri
Court.
Even
though
he
had
appeared
in
the
popular
movie
Anubhavangal
Paalichakal
in
an
uncredited
role,
Mammootty
received
his
first
solid
offer
in
1979,
immediately
after
he
married
Sulfath.
He
decided
to
try
his
luck
in
films,
with
the
complete
support
of
his
wife.
He
made
his
lead
role
debut
with
Devalokam
in
1979;
but
got
the
major
breakthrough
in
his
career
with
the
antagonist
role
in
Vilkkanundu
Swapnangal.
Later,
Malayalam
movie
industry
witnessed
the
growth
of
Mammootty
from
a
non-actor,
to
one
of
the
most
brilliant
actors
in
the
Indian
movie
platform.
He
holds
the
record
for
winning
the
maximum
number
of
Best
Actor
trophies
at
the
National
Film
Awards,
along
with
Kamal
Hassan
and
Amitabh
Bachchan.
He
was
also
awarded
the
fourth
highest
civilian
award
of
the
country,
Padma
Shree
in
1998.
