Mammootty, the megastar of Mollywood, has landed up in a new controversy. The actor has allegedly insulted the television actors and Asianet channel, during the Asianet Television Awards 2015 ceremony, which was held at Angamaly.
As per the sources, Mammootty, who was the chief guest of the function, openly stated his disapproval over the Asianet awards on the stage. He publicly questioned Asianet channel's method of selecting the award recipients.
The actor stated that Asianet follows the strategy to satisfy everyone who works for their channel; instead of honouring the best person from each field. Mammootty's statements haven't gone well with the television actors, who immediately stated their objection.
Mammootty has also allegedly mocked the award results. Sources suggest that the actor intentionally stressed the word 'Best' while announcing the results, to the much displeasure of the Asianet management and television stars.
If the reports are to be true, the actor who was completely restless during the function, left the venue immediately after handing over the Best Actor trophy to actor Kishor Sathya for his performance in the popular serial Karuthamuthu.

Mammootty has openly admitted that he believes in Communist ideologies. He is the Chairman of Kairali TV, which was run by CPM's Malayalam Communications.
