Mammootty Recommended My Name: Jewel Mary

Jewel Mary, the popular Television host who is all set make her movie debut with Mammootty starrer Utopiayile Rajavu, says that it was Mammootty who recommended her name to director Kamal.

According to Jewel Mary, Mammootty called her while he was filming for the movie Bhaskar The Rascal. The actor asked her to call Kamal immediately. Jewel later called Kamal and the director narrated the complete story and the character to her.

She was extremely surprised by the fact that Kamal hasn't met her before that. When Jewel asked the director how will he cast her for the role before meeting her, Kamal replied that Mammootty has recommended her name.

Jewel Mary considers herself very lucky, as she got the opportunity to pair up with her favourite actor Mammootty, in her first two films. She made her acting debut with Mammootty starrer Pathemari.

Her character in Pathemari is Nalini, the wife of the central character Pallickal Narayanan, played by Mammootty. The movie is written and directed by National Award winning filmmaker Salim Ahamed.

Even though the filming of the movie was completed long back, it hasn't hit the theatres yet. As per the recent reports Pathemari will hit the theatres by the second week of September, 2015.
