Mammootty, the megastar of Malayalam movie industry, is reportedly planning to raise his remuneration. If the reports are to be believed, Mammootty will be charging Rs. 3.5 crores per movie hereafter.
As per the sources, the actor decided to go for a remuneration hike, owing to his consecutive box office hits. Bhaskar The Rascal, the recently released Mammootty starrer movie, has already collected more than Rs. 16 crores at the box office.
It is visible that Mammootty has gained back the minimum guarantee for his films, with the success of his last few movies. Even though only a few of them managed to satisfy the critics; last few films of the actor have performed well at the box office.
Mammootty bounced back after a big series of critically and commercially unsuccessful movies, with the brilliant performance in Munnariyippu, directed by popular cinematographer-producer Venu.
His next flick Varsham, which was also produced by himself, managed to satisfy both the audience and critics. The actor is reportedly selecting projects with the low budget, as such movies can make the profit with satellite and television rights alone.
Recently, Mohanlal has also raised his remuneration to 3.5 crores, owing to the huge box office success of Drishyam. But the actor couldn't deliver a decent box office success after Drishyam; which has affected the profit of his films.
