Mohanlal and Hariharan Clash Over Remuneration

Mohanlal, who is highly busy with some big budget projects, has clashed with the veteran director Hariharan, regarding the remuneration issues. The director himself revealed the news in a recent interview given to a film magazine.

Hariharan had approached Mohanlal with an offer, but the actor was not even ready to give an ear to the script. Mohanlal has acted in Hariharan's Panjagni and Amruthamgamaya, which were the milestones in the actor's career.

Interestingly, it was Mohanlal who requested the director to cast him in Panjagni, for the role which was actually written for Nasserudhin Shah. Hariharan was highly impressed with Mohanlal's performance and decided to work with him again.

After Amruthamgamaya, Hariharan planned another project with Mohanlal. But the actor, who has already achieved the stardom, demanded a huge amount, which was equivalent to the budget of the movie.

When Mohanlal was asked to cut down the remuneration, the actor denied the offer by stating that he is not interested in working with the team and wants to remain as good friends.

Later, Mohanlal also refused to make a cameo appearance in Hariharan's Prem Poojari, in which almost all stars of M'town were present. But he did the narration for the director's popular movie Pazhassi Raja, upon the insistence of Mammootty.
