Premam Piracy: Culprits Caught By Anti-piracy Cell

By Akhila Menon

Premam piracy controversy is heading towards new developments. The anti-piracy cell has arrested the culprits from Kollam district. Shockingly, the culprits are three school students, who are studying in 11th and 12th classes.

The investigation team has brought the culprits to the Crime Branch headquarters, for more enquiries. It has been suspected that the students got the copy of the film from piracy mafia members. The culprits have direct foreign contacts.

According to the investigation team, the movie was initially uploaded to the website called kickass.com, on June 22nd. But the censored copy of the movie was leaked before May 19th, much before its release.

Premam was screened before the censor board members on May 18th. The board members had instructed to increase the font size of anti-smoking/drinking scrolls. The editing was completed at the Trivandrum studio on 19th.

The team immediately handed over the DVD to the censor board, after the editing. The censor board issued the certificate on May 19th itself. The investigation has been progressing based on the copy which was given to censor board.

Anwar Rasheed, the popular filmmaker who produced Premam and the director, Alphonse Puthren haven't commented on the arrests yet. A popular person from the film industry, who hails from Trivandrum, is being suspected upon the issue.
