Rani Padmini, the Aashiq Abu directed movie which stars Manju Warrier and Rima Kallingal in the lead roles, will start rolling on April 20th. Aashiq posted the first look poster of the movie in his official Facebook page.

As per the reports, Rani Padmini is a travel movie which revolves around the journey of two woman, from Kochi to Delhi, which later extends to Jammu Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.

Earlier, it was rumoured that Manju Warrier is omitted from the project, due to her huge remuneration. But later, Aashiq Abu slammed the rumours by stating that Manju is very much a part of the project.

It will be a comeback movie for Rima Kallingal, who has been staying out of limelight, for her dream project-Mamangam school of dance. Reports suggest that the actress will also make her first step into filmmaking with the movie.

Rani Padmini is an ambitious project for Aashiq Abu, who tasted a huge failure with his last directorial venture Gangster. The movie, which had Mammootty in the lead role, was heavily criticized by the audience and critics.

The movie is penned by Shyam Pushkaran and Ravi Sankar. Madhu Neelakandan handles the cinematography. Rani Padmini, produced by PM Harris and VS MUhammed Althaf, is slated to release fro October.
