Deepika Padukone, the Bollywood star actress seems to be following the footsteps of her contemporaries, Katrina Kaif and Huma Qureshi. In a recent event, Deepika expressed her wish to make a Mollywood debut.

She was talking to the media, during the recent Tissot launch event held at Lulu Mall, Kochi. Deepika stated that language and budget are not barriers if the character and screenplay are impressive.

When she was asked whether Mollywood can afford her remuneration, Deepika jokingly asked, "Why can't you afford me when you can accommodate other stars?". This clearly indicates that she is eyeing Mollywood.

Katrina Kaif had made her Mollywood debut with the Mammootty starring action thriller Balram V/s Tharadas in 2006. Huma Qureshi also entered Mollywood with a Mammootty starrer, the recently released White.

Well, we really hope that Deepika Padukone will keep her promise and foray into Malayalam cinema in the near future. Will she debut with our superstars or the supremely talented young actors?
