CONFIRMED: AL Vijay To Direct Charlie Tamil Remake

Charlie, the Dulquer Salmaan starring blockbuster movie, is all set to be remade in Tamil. AL Vijay, the talented Tamil film-maker, has been roped in to direct the Tamil version.

Vijay, who rose to fame with his directorial ventures Madrasapattinam, Deivathirumagal, Thalaivaa, etc. is the husband of popular actress Amala Paul. Versatile actor Madhavan will reprise Dulquer's role in the remake.

In a recent interview, director AL Vijay confirmed that his next project is Charlie remake. The director stated that the team is planning to make the Tamil version slightly different from the original, to satisfy the Tamil audiences.

He wants the remake to be a film with his signature and says that he won't copy the style of Martin Prakkat, the director of Charlie. Vijay feels that Madhavan is the perfect choice for the title role in Tamil remake.

He also remarked that Charlie remake is the most challenging project in his career, so far. According to the rumour mills Vijay is planning to cast his wife Amala Paul, in the role played by Parvathy.

Madhavan has recently watched the movie and appreciated the lead actor Dulquer Salmaan and the team members, through his Twitter page. Charlie was scripted by Unni R and produced by Finding Cinema.
