#FilmiFiesta 2015: Best Malayalam Actress Of The Year
News
oi-Akhila
By Akhila Menon
Malayalam
Cinema
has
witnessed
a
huge
change
in
the
concepts
of
filmmaking
and
characterization.
The
industry
no
longer
believes
in
the
so-called
'perfect'
hero-heroine
concepts
and
is
not
adamant
that
the
lead
characters
should
be
stereotyped.
That
is
quite
evident
from
the
way
how
the
leading
female
characters
of
our
films
evolved
in
the
past
few
year.
That
is
why
we
were
been
able
to
enjoy
some
spectacular
onscreen
performances
by
our
leading
ladies
in
2015;
without
worrying
much
about
how
she
looked
onscreen.
It
was
a
brilliant
year
for
the
heroine
league
of
the
industry,
as
there
were
some
exceptional
female
characters
(including
both
the
lead
and
supporting),
which
stole
our
hearts
completely.
This
year,
we
loved
the
pimple-faced
Tamil
girl
Malar
and
Moideen's
Kanchana
unconditionally.
Parvathy
is
undoubtedly
the
star
of
the
year.
She
was
almost
a
forgotten
actress
till
the
release
of
Bangalore
Days
in
2014.
The
movie
completely
changed
our
attitude
towards
her.
But
it
is
the
character
Kanchana,
which
made
us
fall
in
love
with
Parvathy.
The
actress
played
the
real-life
character
Kanchanamala
with
much
confidence,
and
it
was
absolutely
wonderful
to
watch
her
over-shadowing
the
co-stars
with
her
acting
skills.
Unlike,
most
of
her
contemporaries,
Parvathy
dubs
for
herself
and
we
feel
that
it
is
her
biggest
plus
point.
The
best
thing
happened
to
our
industry
this
year
is
Sai
Pallavi,
the
Tamil
girl
who
managed
to
make
the
Malayali
audience
fall
for
her
with
her
role
Malar
in
Premam.
The
industry
is
undoubtedly
thankful
to
director
Alphonse
Puthren,
for
introducing
three
talented
actresses
with
his
film.
It
was
a
moderately
good
year
for
Manju
Warrier,
who
had
three
releases
including
Ennum
Eppozhum,
Rani
Padmini
and
Jo
And
The
Boy.
For
Nayantara,
it
was
the
second
innings
in
her
home
industry
with
Bhaskar
The
Rascal,
after
a
long
gap.

Parvathy
(Ennu
Ninte
Moideen)
Undoubtedly,
the
most
deserving
nomination
in
the
list.
Parvathy
was
just
magical
as
Moideen's
Kanchana,
in
the
blockbuster
lover
story
Ennu
Ninte
Moideen.

Sai
Pallavi
(Premam)
Pallavi
just
stole
our
hearts
with
her
effortless
acting
skills;
as
we
almost
forgot
that
Malar
is
a
movie
character.
Malayali
audience
will
never
be
able
to
think
of
another
actress
as
Malar.

Even
though
it
was
an
average

the

managed
to
deliver
a

Nayantara
(Bhaskar
The
Rascal)
As
we
all
know,
Nayantara
is
a
very
rare
combination
of
talent
and
glamour.
The
actress
just
stole
the
show
as
Hima,
the
single
mother
in
Bhaskar
The
Rascal.

Amala
Paul
(Mili)
Amala
delivered
her
career
best
performance
as
the
title
character
Mili,
a
girl
with
an
extreme
inferiority
complex.
Even
though
the
movie
has
several
flaws,
Amala
was
perfect.
